Since 2013, Lombok-Indonesia.org has been the official company guiding trekkers to the top of Mt. Rinjani for its epic sunrise and vistas. They are an experienced and officially licensed team offering safe and unforgettable treks up Mount Rinjani, trusted by thousands of happy hikers worldwide.
This hiking agency already had an existing, high-value website that was raking in customers by the dozens each day. In fact, the success of their existing website was part of the reason for their top reputation among trekking agencies in Indonesia.
Attempting a redesign of this already successful website was literally going to be an uphill task, but if executed right, will be worth the risk!
David, from us at Lapierre, was part of the team assembled to execute this project. Over time the project saw changes in goals and targets as our client discovered new opportunities in the industry. Specifically, David designed and built a large portion of the site, trek and cruise pages, as well as played a key role in the implementation of one of the site’s ecommerce systems.

LWD understands the heart of YWAM: “To Know God and Make Him Known.” You have a true brother-in-arms among us – David, who embarked on his YWAM journey with the Hopeland PA DTS in 2014/15 and later joined the dedicated staff team at YWAM Athi River from 2018 to 2020. But David’s contributions went beyond his typical tasks of admin, firewood splitting, and grass-cutting.
Throughout his time at YWAM Athi River, David witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by administrative teams. With a keen eye for efficiency and a deep understanding of the power of the internet, he recognized the untapped potential of the Base’s existing website. With the blessing of the BLT, David took charge and embarked on a strategic journey to revamp the website and integrate it with other internet resources.
The success of David’s project spoke volumes and inspired neighboring YWAM Bases to follow suit. The impact was undeniable. Ministry activities gained greater visibility, partners and supporters engaged more actively, and the response from those wanting to support or participate in specific ministries soared. DTS sessions were effectively publicized, offering online applications, references, and downloadable health forms. Interested students found valuable insights in the comprehensive school prospectus.
But the benefits didn’t stop there. Staff and volunteer applications became streamlined with online submissions, while still providing the option for traditional hardcopy applications. Newsletters reached a wider audience, keeping previous students, staff, friends, and supporters in the loop. Outreach teams, both local and foreign, found it effortless to inquire and make reservations – and they did, bringing their transformative missions to life!
While David’s time of service with YWAM Athi River may have ended, the solutions he implemented continue to serve the Base, supporting its day-to-day operations and leaving an indelible mark. The website, once seen as a mere online presence requiring annual hosting fees, has become an indispensable tool, essential to the vibrant functioning of the Base.
